Community Development

At Coastway, "Community Involvement" isn't just a program – it's an attitude. Community is in our name, it's in our advertising, and it's in everything we do. We are committed to doing the right things, the right way, for the cities and towns we call home.

In 2010, Coastway adopted a more formalized approach to community service, with the goal of engaging all employees by supporting a variety of initiatives that suit diverse interests, passions, and schedules. We reach out to local charitable organizations to find out what needs we can help meet and then offer specific volunteer opportunities at these organizations each week. Coastway employees are able to use their work time as well as their personal time to fulfill their volunteer responsibilities and opportunities range from assisting with the sorting and packaging food at the RI Community Food Bank, doing mock interviews to help young adults to get the experience they need to get a job, to committing to mentor a child on a regular basis.

In addition, Coastway works with local non-profits and school groups across the state to deliver Empower by Coastway, our financial education initiative focused on helping individuals gain a better understanding of how their financial choices impact their wellbeing, and empowering them with information, practical tips and best practices for better money management and financial success.
